Abstract

|
A 69-year-old patient with rupture of anterolateral papillary muscle following non-Q-wave myocardial infarction is described. Transesophageal echocardiography was useful in making the diagnosis. Mitral valve replacement was performed 22 days
after
the
onset of acute myocardial infarction. The patient was dicharged in his good condition and coronary angiography is scheduled.
